How Top Pediatric Health Systems are Revolutionizing Care Via Telehealth: Psychiatry, Scheduled Visits, Triage and Beyond

Wednesday, April 18th | 12:00 - 1:00 PM CT

From delivering remote psychiatric care to rural areas so children can get the care they need, to allowing patients and their families to have remote scheduled visits for serious blood disorders, pediatric health systems are leading the charge in innovative telehealth use cases. During this webinar, you’ll hear from three leading health systems on how they’re revolutionizing pediatric care delivery through telehealth:

Children’s Health of Dallas has integrated telehealth across a variety of departments to better service its patients. Part of the health system’s urgent care delivery model includes the deployment of telehealth kiosks within acute care locations, community centers and Dougherty’s retail pharmacies. Children’s Health is also seeing patients via scheduled telehealth visits for orthopedics, behavioral health, blood disorders and more.

Children’s Hospital & Medical Center of Omaha, Nebraska is currently using telehealth to deliver psychiatric care its patients. Since launch, Children’s Omaha has seen a surge in demand, and has expanded mental health access even further across the states of Nebraska and Iowa. It’s through this use case that the health system has been able to drastically decrease physician windshield time and has decreased psychiatry follow-up appointment no-show rates by 50 percent.

Pediatric Associates, a provider group responsible for over 500,000 lives, many of whom are covered under risk-based contract management, is using telehealth to triage patients to help with ED diversion. The group, which uses its own providers to staff its telehealth system, has developed triage protocol to determine the best site of care for each patient, successfully preventing unnecessary ED visits.
