Pre-Operative Surgical Clipping: New Advances in Efficiency and Infection Prevention

Preoperative hair removal has been considered an essential part of surgical preparation for over 150 years. However, data accumulated over the past 30 years have led to significant advancements, including the transition from shaving to clipping and more recently; optimal and efficient methods of clipping with cleanup. This presentation will review the data supporting these advancements, along with the results of a recent survey looking at lingering issues with current practice.
