Baptist MD Anderson doubled infusion volume with no new chairs

Thursday, September 4th, 2025 | 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM CT

Infusion volumes at Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center have more than doubled since 2019, topping 39,000 visits last year. Growth of that scale can swamp even seasoned nursing teams, elongate patient wait times and expose hidden scheduling gaps.

Instead of adding more chairs or extending hours, the Jacksonville, Fla.-based center took a deeper look at data and workflows. By redesigning appointment templates, balancing acuity and leveraging predictive analytics, leaders created additional capacity inside the footprint they already had, delivering measurable results:

  • 140% increase in daily scheduled volumes
  • 13% rise in chair efficiency
  • 30% reduction in average chair wait times

During this virtual learning session, Baptist Health leaders will detail the strategy and tools behind these results. Attendees will get a candid look at what worked, what changed for front-line staff and the leadership principles that kept the project on track.
