Pressure injuries and chronic wounds are an increasingly common healthcare problem that impact patient lives, healthcare facility quality scores and financial penalties.

This webinar will discuss two recent studies related to the cost burden of pressure injuries and chronic wounds: An analysis of hospital-acquired pressure injury cost burden from the more than 9 million patient records in the Premier database, and study about a cost-effective method to treat chronic wounds.

Barrett Larson, MD is a board-certified anesthesiologist with a focus on medical technology. He has spent most of his medical career at Stanford University, first as a medical student, then as a resident, and now as a Clinical Assistant Professor. Outside of academics, he co-founded and was CEO of Leaf Healthcare, which commercialized the first remote patient monitoring system for pressure injury prevention.
