How 2 Mayo physicians reimagined the surgical gown

Tuesday, January 16th, 2024 | 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM CT

Healthcare has no room for inefficiencies, especially in the operating room (OR). Due to resourcing constraints and other challenges, efficiently accessing instruments in the OR can be a time-consuming process that requires multiple instrument handlers and can lead to infection control breaches or procedural delays.

That's why two Mayo Clinic surgeons collaborated with Cardinal Health to design the first pocketed surgical gown designed to help maintain instrument sterility and accessibility. By keeping critical surgical instruments within reach and creating the potential to minimize procedural delays, clinical teams can enhance patient outcomes and improve convenience and efficiency.

This webinar will explore key benefits of the new gown for surgeons, including:

  • Designed to spend less time spent completing handoffs and requesting or searching for instruments
  • Enables users to keep greater focus on their patient and deliver safer care
  • Allows for more self-sufficiency, freeing up other surgical team members for other tasks
