1:00 PM CT  Leaders are under pressure to maximize the output of the perioperative suite and drive revenue, but that’s a complex challenge. Block schedules unintentionally hinder OR scheduling, resulting in underutilization. Cases run longer than booked, creating delays. Case mix doesn’t align with scheduled staff’s qualifications, causing last minute rearrangements.
