Ensure your facility is compliant with 4 new amendments to steam sterilization practices

Wednesday, April 14th, 2021 | 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM CT

The American National Standards Institute and the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation issued four new amendments related to steam sterilization this past January, providing new guidance and strategies for assuring safety. As with any changes related to safety and quality, there's a lot to unpack. So how can you ensure your facility is meeting the latest guidance?

In this webinar, Cheron Rojo and Seth Hendee, SPD educational coordinators at Healthmark, will lead a discussion on what the amendments mean and what steps to take to ensure compliance.

Learning objectives:

  • Identify and discuss key areas for amendments one (Environmental Services/Fans/Food and Drink,) three (Frequency of Cleaning for Routine Care of Sterilizers,) and four (Content Addressing Recording BI Lot Numbers.)

  • Outline the key components for amendment two (Inspection of Insulated Instruments,) and review recent FDA MAUDE reports and other bad practices that support the new recommendations.
