Key concepts to improve patient and provider satisfaction and engagement
Tuesday, June 5th, 2018 | 1:00 - 2:00 PM CST
When Gundersen Health System implemented a new EHR, the 325-bed teaching institution based in La Crosse, Wisconsin enabled electronic prescribing of non-controlled substances, requiring providers to still prescribe controlled substances using paper. This resulted in inefficient dual prescribing workflows that frustrated physicians and patients, required frustrated patients to travel long distances to their care location for paper prescriptions, and raised the risk of theft due to paper prescriptions being printed to centralized locations. The team at Gundersen knew that an electronic prescribing of controlled substances (EPCS) solution would help them reduce paper prescriptions – but whatever solution was selected needed to meet DEA requirements and integrate seamlessly with their EHR to ensure a convenient, seamless workflow for providers.
Attend this webinar to learn how Gundersen has used EPCS to:
- Significantly reduce use of paper prescriptions
- Improve provider workflow efficiency
- Increase patient satisfaction
- Reduce the risk of prescription theft and fraud
