The information missing from your EMR — How to find it and what to do with it

Wednesday, August 19th, 2020 | 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm CT

Today we rely on the EMR to provide the critical information needed for quality, effective care. But all the pertinent information is not always there. And there is rarely time to find it once you sit face to face or screen to screen with a patient.

Critical information may be in other patient documents or medical images. We will discuss how to harness and manage this unstructured content to better inform physicians as they make care decisions and to ensure the best experience and outcome for the patient.

At the end of the session, webinar attendees will be able to:

  • Differentiate between the EHR from the EMR (www.Health IT.Gov definitions)
  • Analyze the metadata and workflows utilized by their organization for filing and accessing documents and images
  • Evaluate the clinical needs in their organization for access to documents and images
  • Describe the role of documents and images in the care continuum
