David Shapiro, M.D. is an anesthesiologist from Florida who has had extensive experience serving as a department chair, medical director, and board member of several ambulatory surgery centers. Dr. Shapiro currently serves on the Boards of both the Florida Society of Ambulatory Surgery Centers (FSASC) and the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association (ASCA) and is a Past President of the latter Organization. Additionally, he is Chair Elect of the Board of the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), an Organization for which he also conducts healthcare facility surveys on behalf of AAAHC and Medicare.

Director of Clinical Operations, Women's Health Connecticut

Lakesha Rivera, MS, CNM, RNC-OB is Director of Clinical Operations at Women’s Health CT, a management system organization for OB/GYN practices in the state of Connecticut and Massachusetts. Lakesha has years of diverse nursing experience, having worked in both clinical and non-clinical settings. In her role as Director of Clinical Operations, she is a part of a multidisciplinary team comprised of the Chief Medical Officer, Medical Directors, SVP of Clinical Operations, VP of Managed Care and Lab services, Clinical Quality Performance Lead, and a host of other pertinent clinical staff. Lakesha oversees various projects and initiatives that improve the quality of patient care. She co-chairs the Quality Committee and chairs other clinical ad-hoc committees within the organization. Lakesha also co-chairs the Risk Management Committee and because of this, she works very closely with the Compliance Department and is an active member of the Compliance Committee. Although her workday is busy, Lakesha does get out to enjoy family time, kayaking, and walks with her dogs.
